George Washington University, K12 launch online high school

The private school, called the George Washington University Online High School, will begin classes this month.

Officials say admission will be open to students in the U.S. and abroad, but will be “highly selective.” Once in, students will have access to K12′s curriculum of over 100 high school courses, honors and AP classes, and a variety of electives.

West Virginia Wesleyan launches online writing course

“In this course, students will develop the skills they need to excel at business communications and take their creative literary talents to a new level,” stated Taylor. “Writing Essentials will permit class participants to master the essentials of writing and become a stellar wordsmith. Whether you are hoping to secure a better job, write for a blog or publish your short story, this course will give you the writing tools you need for success. Writing Essentials is the newest course in Wesleyan’s growing catalog of education to go online courses and is entirely Web-based with comprehensive lessons, quizzes and assignments.
